BIOPELLETS –
BIOBRIQUETTES
All kinds of wood, wood waste, forestry waste, agricultural
waste, industrial waste are dried and grinded, then pressed by
high pressure compression for density increasing and small
pieces in order to obtain energy are called pellet fuel are
formed. Raw materials and manufacturing techniques vary, but in
terms of wood and its derivatives in converting materials into a
pellet using of a binder is not important. In certain types of
raw materials some binders (molasses, starch, vegetable wax,
tall oil, lignin, water ... etc) are used.
As raw materials many products are used, such as wood (hard and
soft wood), wood chips, sawdust, bark, branches, leaves and
other forest residues, respec-straw (wheat, barley, rye, oats
...), stem (sunflowers, corn, cotton, rapeseed ... ), shell-case
(coffee, soybeans, rice, peanuts, hazelnuts, walnuts ...), fruit
seeds, paper and cardboard, etc.. waste and garbage, industrial
waste (pomace ...), construction waste can be used of these
products, except energy forestry and energy farming (switchgrass-branched
maize, miscanthus-elephant grass ...). Such products can be
manufactured from a single pellet or can be obtained by mixing
of several products (chips, stalks, straw, pomace, coal dust ...
etc.).
It is possible to classify pellet fuel as wood pellets and
agricultural waste pellets (agripellets).

Pellets usually are sold in 15 kg, 25 kg, 1 ton and bulk
(open) weight standards.
Approximately 1 kg pellet is in value of 4500-5000 kcal/kg
and has roughly 5 kW power. In other words, one ton of
pellets equals to 450-500 liters of fuel oil.

| Always learn the
caloric value and analysis reports of raw material when
you buy pellets or briquettes. |
